JACKSON, Miss. — Two Quitman County State inmates who escaped from their work site on Monday are back in custody.

According to reports, Caleb Davenport and Zachary Reed were captured by a State Trooper after he spotted them walking along U.S. 61 just north of Clarksdale.

Davenport and Reed were last seen cutting grass at Coahoma County Community College around noon.

The two inmates were wearing MDOC green and white pants and a white MDOC shirt with “MDOC Convict” printed on the back.

Davenport was serving a six-year sentence for three counts of car burglary.

Reed was sentenced to 5-years for one count of grand larceny.

They each now face an additional 5-year sentence if convicted of escape.
