MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two men pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the death of a woman and her friend’s unborn baby.
David Diaz, 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide while the passenger at the time, Alfredo Juarez, 29, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.
According to reports, Donna Dickson, Derika Hull, and Desmond Black were hit by a car at the intersection of Getwell and Commanche back in January.
The vehicle was being driven by Diaz, who reportedly ran a red light and smashed into the victims.
When they realized what happened, both suspects bolted from the car and ran to a nearby apartment complex where they were later arrested.
Dickson and Hull’s unborn baby were killed in that crash.
Reports indicated Diaz had been drinking prior to the wreck.
He was given concurrent sentences of 10 years in prison.
Juarez agreed to a one-year sentence.
