MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police pulled a man over for texting and driving on Germantown Parkway last month, but somehow he got away.
Police found drugs in his car, and began an investigation which brought them to Aspen Meadows Cove, a quiet Cordova neighborhood.
Police suspected the man, Adrian Bean, was selling drugs from a black Kia Sorrento.
The police document WREG obtained said they spotted the SUV and a woman driving it run a stop sign.
They pulled her over and found Bean also inside with drugs.
Police arrested him.
The document said the woman agreed to let them search her home, where they found marijuana on a kitchen table in several mason jars, and found crack, xanax and fake drugs.
“It has caught me off guard I would not have expected it, we usually walk the dogs in this area over here,” said one neighbor.
The woman behind the wheel wasn’t charged because, according to the police document, Bean said the drugs belonged to him.
She insisted he didn’t live there.
She said she met him at a pool and he lied about his name.
Neighbors said he’d been there a lot.
“There was children over there, and I don’t know if it was a wife or a girlfriend or what,” said one woman.
