NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A judge could sentence two former Vanderbilt football players accused of raping a co-ed on Monday.
According to reports, the judge is scheduled to hear a motion from Brandon Vandenburg and Cory Batey’s attorneys asking for a new trial.
They claimed the pair didn’t get a fair trial because a member of the jury didn’t reveal that he had been the victim of statutory rape.
The prosecutor, however, said the juror didn’t consider himself a victim, nor did he try to persuade the jury’s opinion.
If the judge doesn’t grant the motion, Vandenburg and Batey could be sentenced today.
That hearing is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
