MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department arrested two women for their role in an early morning carjacking.

According to reports, police responded to a call in the 1700 block of Pipping Rock Drive.

The victim told officers he was getting out of his car when a woman approached him asking if “he wanted to have a good time.”

He noticed that the woman was coming on strong but wouldn’t make eye contact with him nor get off the phone.

She then asked the victim if he remembered her, to which he replied that he vaguely did.

He reportedly had met her over a year ago when he lived in the Frazier area.

The woman then pulled out a gun and demanded the keys.

While she was trying to leave the scene, the man jumped in front of the car to stop her and was hit in the leg.

Police immediately put out an alert on the woman and car.

Several hours later, law enforcement received a call saying the vehicle had been spotted.

Police caught up to it near Jackson and National, then followed it to the 1100 block of Gordon.

Despite trying to flee, both women inside the car were taken into custody.
