Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. was named a reserve for the 74th NBA All-Star Game, the NBA announced Thursday.
This marks the second career All-Star selection for Jackson Jr., who also was selected as a reserve in 2023, the Grizzlies said.
The game will take place in San Francisco on February 16, at 7 p.m. CT on TNT and TruTV.

In his seventh NBA season, Jackson Jr. has started all 45 appearances and has averaged a career-high 22.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, a career-best 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks in 29.5 minutes to lead the Grizzlies to a 31-16 record (third in the Western Conference). The 25-year-old, who earned his first career Western Conference Player of the Week award on Monday, is the only NBA player with at least 50 3-pointers made, 50 steals and 50 blocks this season.
Jackson Jr., who ranks fifth in the NBA in points per 36 minutes, is the leading scorer for the highest scoring offense in the NBA this season with Memphis on course to set a new single-season franchise record at 123.3 points per game. He is averaging a career-high 12.2 points in the paint per game (11th in the NBA) to help Memphis place second in the category with 57.1 paint points per game as a team.
On the other side of the court, the 2022-23 NBA Defensive Player of the Year has anchored a Grizzlies defense that ranks seventh in defensive rating (110.5), third in blocks (6.1) and sixth in steals (9.2). Jackson Jr. ranks seventh in the league in blocks per game and 28th in steals per game, is the only player to rank both in the top 10 in blocks and top 30 in steals.
The Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month for December 2024, Jackson Jr. is holding opponents to 40.4 percent shooting this season as the closest defender, which is the best defensive field goal percentage in the league among players with at least 500 field goal attempts defended.
Jackson Jr. is the fourth player in franchise history to be named to receive multiple All-Star selections for the Grizzlies, joining Zach Randolph (2010, 2013), Marc Gasol (2012, 2015, 2017)and Ja Morant (2022, 2023).
