MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Cleanup is underway across the Mid-South on Wednesday, after severe weather knocked down tree limbs and caused other damage Tuesday.

Along with power outages, many people were still dealing with downed trees and limbs.

Off North Graham Street in East Memphis, some businesses responded to the damage.

“We’ve been swamped. I mean that storm was just crazy,” said Jared Pieper with A & H Affordable Tree Service.

He said storm damage means more business.

“I’ve done literally 10 estimates this morning. My phone’s still blowing up,” Pieper said.

He said downed tree limbs seemed to be the most common form of damage in the area.

WREG found a tree down on a car on Allandale Lane on Tuesday shortly after the storm passed.

“What we’re seeing are a lot of trees down,” agreed one East Memphis resident who was driving around.

While the excess of downed limbs meant extra business for Pieper, it meant some slowdowns for Michael Omar with MorGreen Teton Stone.

Omar spent Wednesday checking on his projects after the storm. His business does landscaping and other outdoor work.

“It’s definitely, though, put us a little bit behind because right now, we’re just having to kind of continue what we’re doing already architecturally and construction-wise,” Omar explained.

Despite the damage, Memphis Fire Department said there were zero reported injuries in the storm.

The Better Business Bureau reported Wednesday that it encouraged people with storm damage to research contractors who go door-to-door looking for work before hiring and paying them.
