MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mayor A C Wharton said he would push for TBI secrecy to be lifted during next legislative session.
The announcement came less than a week after the TBI talked with District Attorney Amy Weirich, who agreed to release all key evidence in the shooting death of 19-year-old Darrius Stewart.
He was shot by Memphis Police Officer Connor Schilling.
According to reports, Schilling was about to arrest Stewart on two warrants when Stewart attacked.
That’s when the officer opened fire.
