MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There was a lot of excitement at Southland Greyhound Park in West Memphis, Arkansas Thursday night when one of the dogs got loose.

According to Troy Keeping, the general manager, the dog escaped from her enclosure and darted for a nearby body of water.

Workers quickly followed procedure by blocking the canal so she couldn’t get out.

One person WREG spoke to said the dog wouldn’t come out of the water, but eventually her tummy got the best of her.

Around feeding time, she was caught and taken inside.

She was not injured and is said to be doing just fine.

Keeping told WREG they are still trying to figure out how she was able to get out in the first place.
