GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — Security cameras recorded a small black SUV in front of the Michael Kors store Thursday morning.
Men in black hoodies jumped out, broke the glass and grabbed purses.
Sound familiar?
Just weeks ago, something similar happened at the Coach store just around the block.
Men in a black SUV, using a tire iron, wearing black hoodies, went in and grabbed all the handbags they could.
Coincidence?
In both instances the men wore hoodies with the words “player one” on the back.
Police said the similarities didn’t stop there.
“There was a similar burglary a few weeks ago in Memphis, description same, wearing same type clothing,” said Deputy Police Chief Rodney Bright.
Whoever it is, police said it wasn’t a repeat but a pattern.
At Coach, dozens of handbags were stolen and the men were gone in about 30 seconds.
It wasn’t much better at Michael Kors.
“You have to plan and rehearse it, I believe this job was planned and rehearsed,” said Walter Battle, the store’s security guard.
Security guards, police investigators, even everyday shoppers said it was clear “player one”’s game is pretty high stakes, and well planned out.
