MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two juveniles have been shot near Kirby High School.
Police responded to the 6500 block of Birch Walk Drive Monday around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said two female teenagers were at the scene, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
The first victim told police she and the other girl were outside talking when they saw the suspect, whom they both know, pull out a gun when he neared them. She said they tried to run away, and then the suspect starting shooting at them.
Police said the two females teenagers were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
Police have released no information on the suspect except they are looking for a male juvenile who was last seen running eastbound on Birch Walk Drive.
Neighbors told WREG violence like this doesn’t happen in their street.
“This is a good neighborhood. We’ve been living over here for a while. This is just random. Real random,” said Gregory Scott.
