NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A nine-year-old boy taken from Clarksville in February has been found in Mexico and safely returned, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Friday.
William Stanley King took Christopher Ponce after he lost a custody hearing. King, who also went by William Allen Borck, was married to Christopher’s mother.
Investigators learned the man and child were in the outskirts of Mexico City. The TBI worked with U.S. Marshals and Mexican authorities to track them down and capture King on Thursday.
The TBI said King initially refused to give away Christopher’s location, but Mexican authorities eventually located him. Christopher was found safe and in good health.
Christopher returned to the United States on Friday and was reunited with his mother.
King is also being returned to the States and should face charges in Clarksville of especially aggravated kidnapping, filing a false report and custodial interference.
