HORN LAKE, Miss. — A thief was caught in broad daylight stealing an air compressor out of someone’s garage.

Officers said the man may be connected to other crimes in Mississippi.

Sharon Wadlington said she moved to Horn Lake from Memphis, Tennessee, because she considers it safer. However, she’s questioning that after learning someone stole her neighbor’s air compressor out of the garage.

“She informed me that she has been violated, and that makes me feel like I’ve been violated,” she said.

The Horn Lake Police Department received a report Monday from a woman that had left her garage door open when she went to pick up her child from school,  Lt. Scott Evans said.

Evans said a neighbor took a picture of the man in the 6000 block of Riverdale Road.

The officer said it’s possible the thief is connected to similar crimes in nearby Walls. Neighbors said it makes them wonder if they could become targets too.

Police said a lot of the incidents are happening because people are not leaving their garage doors closed, but neighbors said the latest incident has them thinking more and more about their safety.
