
NEW YORK — Yvonne Craig, who played Batgirl in the 1960s TV show “Batman” has died at the age of 78.
According to reports, Craig died Monday at her home in Los Angeles from breast cancer.
Craig’s career began in 1958 when she appeared in an episode of the wildly popular series “Perry Mason” and in the 1959 movie “The Young Land.”
Her other TV credits include another memorable role as the green Orion Slave Girl who tried to kill Captain Kirk in an episode of the original “Star Trek” series.
She even appeared alongside Elvis Presley in the 1960s films, “It Happened at the World’s Fair” and “Kissin’ Cousins.”
Despite her success, Craig was best known for her role as Batgirl in the 1967-68 season of “Batman”.
