NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol will soon add four new canines to its ranks.

It was announced on Wednesday, four drug detector teams will be honored in a special ceremony on Friday at the THP Training Center in Nashville.

In order to graduate, the teams had to be certified in the areas of obedience, evidence search, and scent detection of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana.

The handlers will be handed their certification while the canines will be presented with a badge.

No word yet on where the dogs will be sent for duty.
