MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s National Dog Day! The day was founded in 2004 by pet lifestyle expert, author and animal advocate Colleen Paige. The goal is to bring attention to our pups and animals waiting in shelters for their forever homes. And a survey by Milo’s Kitchen said Tennessee is ranked the fourth most dog-happy state in the U.S. Share your pic with us by clicking the “submit” button below to share your photo.   • This cutie-pie is King Bernie Mac! He is 13 years old and still as precious and a joy to have as the day when I first brought him home to live with me. Bernie has been a big part of my life now and is considered by all as a Family Member and not just a pet dog. We have our own language that only he and I understand and that's a wonderful thing. Almost the same as the language and bond developed between a parent and child. I do everything to keep him healthy and happy. He's a whole lot of fun and hilarious to watch and interact with. There's something new with him everyday that keeps me smiling and loving him more and more! He's very compassionate, knows no strangers and loves everybody. I love my Bernie Mac and I Thank God for this wonderful gift.
