Memphis, Tenn. – As the opening of the 2015-16 NBA season draws near, the Memphis Grizzlies invite Grizz Nation to celebrate with them in festive settings throughout Bluff City, including the fan-favorite Grizzlies Open Practice at FedExForum on Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 1-2 p.m. The event starts with a Plaza Party at noon featuring live music, inflatable games, food and beverage for purchase and much more. The practice, open to the public, will give fans a look behind-the-curtain at the entire 2015-16 Grizzlies roster in action with Dave Joerger and his coaching staff running through actual team drills.
Fan festival events start as early as this weekend, with the Grizzlies hosting a hospitality tent for invited MVP Season Ticket Holders at the Cooper Young Festival, with catering provided by Jet’s Pizza, Coors and Pepsi. MVPs can RSVP for the event through their Grizzlies MVP News e-mail, or by contacting their Grizzlies Account Executive.
The Grizzlies tip-off October with two consecutive appearances at Levitt Shell Fridays, and a second MVP hospitality event at the Mid-South Maze, famously ‘fandomized’ into an aerial view of Marc Gasol, on Sunday, Oct. 11 from 2-4 p.m. The Mid-South Maze sits on eight acres of fun and is open from Sept. 18 – Oct. 31 at the Agricenter off Germantown Parkway in Memphis. Details for this day will be sent via MVP news to Season Ticket Holders at a later date.
Other October highlights include two full-team participation events featuring the entire team of Grizzlies players, coaches and executives. On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Grizzlies will participate in the 2015 Grizzlies Day of Service by getting hands-on in a community service project at Greenleaf Learning Farm in South Memphis. The team, coaches and executive staff will participate in expanding Greenleaf’s footprint, transforming it into 1.5 acres of USDA certified organic farmland with outdoor classrooms, a mobile farm stand, and a farm-to-table dining space. The service project is closed to the public and open to media only. Timing will be released at a later date.
Following tradition, the entire team of players, coaches and executives will be present again at the 14th Annual Tip-Off Luncheon presented by First Tennessee Bank on Monday, Oct. 26 at FedExForum. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Details will be announced at a later date.
