MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Whitehaven man has been convicted of hurting two young girls ages 9- and 12-years-old beginning back in 2007.

David Banks was convicted on two counts of aggravated sexual battery, attempted rape of a child and child abuse.

According to the District’s Attorney’s Office, Banks had continuously assaulted one girl for four years starting at the age of 9, while the other was 12 when she and her best friend were assaulted.

All of these events happened between April 2007 and June 2012.

One of the victim’s was the child of Bank’s girlfriend.

Both girls testified at trial.

Banks could face up to 37 years behind bars when he returns to court for sentencing in November.
