MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The movie night series at Memorial Park has been canceled tonight.
A representative from Memorial Park sent the following statement:
“The movie night series was meant to provide another venue for families to experience the natural beauty of Memorial Park while enjoying memories of loved ones is a very positive way, free from sorrow.”
“Our effort to create this positive experience was not properly understood by many; therefore we have decided to cancel the event.
Memorial Park has a rich tradition of hosting events that give back to the Memphis community.
A representative from Memorial Park also told WREG that much thought and planning was put into the event to ensure that no graves would be impacted and that families could enjoy this experience while still respecting those buried.
