MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A former employee of the labor provider service, Impact Logistics has pleaded guilty to defrauding the company of thousands of dollars over a two-year period.

According to the release from the Department of Justice, Robert Ross of Texas was the senior director, for the companies offices in Atlanta and Dallas.

He helped manage the time keeping and billing for those offices.

During the investigation, it was revealed that from February 2013 to June 2015, Ross didn’t notify the company when an employee resigned from the company, which left them on the Impact payroll.

In a news release, the DOJ said Impact employees are paid either through direct deposit, or they are given prepaid debit cards called Transcards.

During this period, Ross would call the Memphis office, claiming the employees had lost their cards.

The Memphis office would then send out a new card, Ross would forge paperwork to activate them and then submit time sheets as if the employee worked.
Ross also filled out time sheets for the employees.

In all, he defrauded the company of more than $300,000.

Ross could face up to 20 years behind bars for wire fraud and a fine of up to $250,000.

He was scheduled to be back in court on December 17.

Impact operates in multiple states including Tennessee, California, Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Illinois and Pennsylvania.
