JACKSON, Tenn. — A 17-year-old from Jackson is in trouble after posting a photo on social media showing him standing on top of a police car.

The teen stood on top of the car while it was parked at a mall and caused dents to the trunk and hood, police said. A photo of him on the car made its way around social media and caught the attention of the Jackson Police Department.

Jackson Police identified the teen in the photo, and prosecutors charged him with vandalism.

The boy took responsibility for his actions and cooperated with police, Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser said in a statement.
