SENATOBIA, Miss. — Police are on the hunt for two armed robbers in Senatobia who they say pistol whipped a couple of college students Wednesday night.

One of the victims told WREG he was walking on the sidewalk next to Northwest Mississippi Community College when two guys jumped him and another woman from behind on Highway 51 near Benton Apartments.

“Next thing I know I hear ‘give me all your money’,” said the student.

He told the robbers he didn’t have any money.

“I got pistol whipped in the head,” he said.

The woman he was with was trembling and terrified, and she started screaming for help.

“They started to grab her. They pistol whipped her in the face. She got knocked on the concrete,” said the male student.

The robbers reportedly swiped their phones and took off North on Highway 51.

Police don’t have a detailed description of the two.

The victims were taken to the hospital. The woman was hurt the worst.

“She’s obviously going to be bruised. She’s swollen up right now on the left side of her face. It’s plain as day. I know she’s in a lot of pain. She’s told me it hurts to even open up her mouth,” said the student.

Campus police said they sent an alert to students Thursday morning letting them know what happened.

Senatobia Police Department is now in charge of the case.
