WASHINGTON — The star goalie for the United States women’s soccer team will once again be facing domestic violence charges.
According to ESPN, the Washington state appeals court reversed a lower court’s decision on Friday to dismiss charges against Hope Solo after she allegedly beat up her nephew and half-sister.
She initially faced two counts of domestic violence after the June 2014 incident in which she claimed she was the victim.
However, after interviewing everyone on the scene, Solo was charged, and a court date was set for January.
However, right before the court date, the judge dismissed the charges.
Prosecutors immediately filed an appeal.
Back in June, ESPN’s Outside the Lines highlighted the case in its program.
Solo’s half-sister, Teresa Obert claimed her relative was in a drunken rage when she attacked the 17-year-old and herself.
“She grabbed him by the head and she kept slamming him into the cement over and over again,” Obert told Outside the Lines. “So I came from behind her, and I pulled her over and, you know, to get her off my son. And then, once she got off, she started punching me in the face over and over again.”
In addition, as the police were trying to book her into jail, Solo became so combative she was forced to the ground.
“You’re such a b—-. You’re scared of me because you know that if the handcuffs were off, I’d kick your ass,” she reportedly yelled at the officer.
Solo has repeatedly denied she hurt anyone.
