GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — Germantown Police have arrested the person wanted in connection to an attempted robbery that happened early Friday morning.

Police identified that person as Demarcus Johnson, 17.

According to police, the incident happened in the 2700 block of Scarlet Avenue.

The victim had just arrived home when they were approached by a man carrying a shotgun.

The homeowner immediately started to drive away, at which point the suspect began shooting at him.

The victim was not injured.

Later that day, an officer spotted Johnson’s car speeding down Wolf River Boulevard near Farmington.

As officers closed in, Johnson allegedly bolted from the car and took off on foot down Kilbirnie where he turned and opened fire on his pursuant.

He then took off toward a wooded area and stayed hidden until approximately 7:30 a.m. when officers received a call from a homeowner near Pine Needle and Pine Needle Cove saying they had spotted the man.

When officers arrived at the location, Johnson allegedly tried to take off again but wasn’t able to get very far.

He was taken into custody without further incident. Police have not yet released the charges.
