OXFORD, Miss. — Thanks to the ASICS America Corporation more than 200 students from Oxford will be getting a new pair of shoes.

According to the Oxford Eagle, the school district accepted 242 new pairs of shoes that will be distributed to less fortunate students whose families can’t afford to buy their own.

Superintendent Brian Harvey said ASICS donated the shoes after a parent who worked for the retailer went to her boss and helped arrange the donations.

This is the second year in a row the company has donated shoes.

The retail value of the shoes is approximately $6,531.92.
