MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A juvenile was sent to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition after a crash Friday.

The boy was biking westbound at about 8 p.m. Friday on Waldorf Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle going southbound on Latham Street, police said.

A police investigation showed the cyclist did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Latham and Waldorf right before the crash. He was also not using any safety equipment, and the area was dark.

Prosecutors have not filed any charges related to the incident at this time.
