ALGOOD, Tenn. — A man shot a police officer in Algood on Saturday afternoon, but he didn’t stop there.

CBS affiliate WTVF reported Floyd Ray Cook, 62, is accused of shooting Officer Ahscari Valencia in the abdomen Saturday afternoon. The officer did not suffer injuries due to his protective vest, but he still went to the hospital. The officer has since been released.

After the shooting in Algood, Cook allegedly traveled north to Cumberland County, Kentucky, where he also got into a shootout with officers.

He escaped yet again, authorities told WTVF.

Cook has a prior warrant out for his arrest in Kentucky after having been charged with rape.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced Monday he has been added to Tennessee’s Top Ten Most Wanted list. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his capture.

The TBI said Cook, who is from Lebanon, Kentucky, is a 6-foot white male with brown hair and blue eyes who weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen near Highway 61 south of Burkesville, Kentucky.

Anyone with information about where this suspect may be should call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463). He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
