MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County Schools said a student brought a knife to White Station Middle School on Monday.
Another student reported that the student had a knife, so SCS said the school investigated and found the student did indeed have a small knife.
The student told White Station Middle School staff it was an “ornamental” knife he had brought to show friends.
The student did not threaten anyone with the knife, but possessing it was a violation of school policy, SCS said.
Schools officers confiscated the knife, and the child was disciplined.
Parents have been notified of the incident.
