LOS ANGELES — Haters gonna hate, and apparently sue as well.

Taylor Swift has found herself in the middle of a $42 million lawsuit over the lyrics to her popular 2014 hit “Shake It Off.”

According to the New York Daily News, R&B singer Jesse Graham filed the lawsuit saying the song took elements from his 2013 song “Haters Gone Hate.”

Specifically the phrase “Haters gonna hate, players gonna play.”

“Her hook is the same hook as mine,” Graham told the Daily News on Saturday, claiming Swift uses it about 72 times in her song. “If I didn’t write the song ‘Haters Gone Hate,’ there wouldn’t be a song called ‘Shake It Off.'”

Graham told the news outlet he asked Swift to list him as a writer of the song and asked for a selfie, but they refused.

That’s when he filed suit.

The songwriter also admitted he would soon be filing suit against CNN as well for the title of their morning show New Day because he runs a church called New Day Worldwide, reported Billboard.
