SPARTANBURG, S.C. — One person is dead and another possibly injured after an officer-involved shooting on the campus of Spartanburg Methodist College in South Carolina.
According to Fox Carolina, the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday near a dorm parking lot.
The Coroner’s Office was called shortly after that.
Students were told to stay in their dorm rooms or wherever they were as the campus went on lockdown.
Initial reports indicate one person was killed and another, possibly an officer, was taken to a nearby hospital.
Officers could be seen blocking the roads going in and out of campus, trying to deter anyone from coming or going.
At this time, officials believe there are no further threats to the campus or students.
This is a developing story.
