CARLSBAD, Calif. — Two people were tragically killed after the helicopter they were in spun out of control and crashed. The accident happened at the McClellan-Palomar Airport on Wednesday afternoon, KSWB reported. A witness on the scene told investigators they saw the helicopter start to make a normal landing. At some point, it caught on fire and began spinning uncontrollably, and then it crashed. Only two people were on board at the time. The crash forced the airport to shut down temporarily as crews worked to get the scene under control. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
