And these culinary goddesses are coming together to help other women in the Bluff City this holiday season.

Grit Muffins

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup cooked grits
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions
  • Hot sauce to taste

Sift the first four ingredients together.  In another bowl, mix the egg, buttermilk, butter and grits.  Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and mix well.  Stir in the cheese and onions.  Season with hot sauce to taste.  Spray 12 muffin pans.  Preheat oven to 350F.

Bake for  35minutes

Makes: 12 muffins
