MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A third suspect has plead guilty in the 2013 robbery and murder case of a local contractor.
The District Attorney’s Office charged 19-year-old Thomas Moss with facilitation to commit an especially aggravated robbery, and a judge sentenced him to eight years behind bars.
On October 4, 2013, authorities said Moss was the driver of the car used to get away after Corey Sandifer and Derek Cunngingham, Jr. shot and killed John Shelley.
Shelley was meeting with a construction worker in the 4700 block of Scottsdale Avenue in Parkway Village when he was shot in the neck.
Sandifer and Cunningham took Shelley’s cellphone, an iPad and cash.
The construction worker was robbed of his wallet.
In August, Cunningham plead guilty to second degree murder and aggravated robbery.
He was later sentenced to 30 years behind bars without the possibility of parole.
Less than a month later, Sandifer also plead guilty to the same charges and sentenced to 15 years without parole.
He was also given 12 years for aggravated robbery, which will be served concurrently as the second degree murder charge.
