NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. — Traffic was disrupted and school officials prepared for bus routes to be interrupted before New Hampshire investigators learned that the suspicious package they were treating as a bomb scare turned out to be a baby bath toy.

The Portsmouth Herald reports that the state police bomb squad was called out to a North Hampton house Friday afternoon to investigate a suspicious package that had arrived in the mail. The woman who called described the package as a cylindrical snow globe with a chip and wires inside it.

Police closed off North Road before the woman’s husband called to let them know the package was a baby bath time light he ordered online.

The street was reopened and the bomb squad was waved off.
