NASHVILLE, Tenn. — If traveling this holiday season, you’ll be glad to know the Tennessee Department of Transportation has halted all construction on roadways in anticipation of the heavy traffic.

TDOT told WREG while all construction related closures will be suspended, drivers should be aware crews may still be on site.

In addition, all posted speed limits in these zones will still be strictly enforced.

The changes will begin at noon on Wednesday, December 23 and end January 4, 2016.

TDOT said they expect over two million drivers to hit Tennessee roadways during the holidays.
