NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for questioning in a double homicide case.

In September 1980, Carla Atkins and Vickie Stout of Stewart County left their home to go to a nearby store.

They were seen walking back towards the home sometime around 3:30 p.m.

A witness told investigators they saw the two approach a driver in a blue truck.

Three weeks later, their bodies were found near the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

Investigators were able to get a composite sketch of the driver of that truck, and are now asking the public to come forward with information.

If you can help in any way, you are urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
