MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A local man is behind bars, accused of stealing cash from the Advanced Auto Parts on Knight Arnold Road.

Officers received the call just after 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The person on the other end told police the suspect, who was later identified as 29-year-old Devin Sanders, came into the store armed with a gun.

He pointed the weapon at the three clerks and demanded money.

Law enforcement arrived on the scene just in time to see Sanders fleeing and gave chase.

They were able to recover the ski mask Sanders had been wearing during the robbery, a plaid jacket and a bag containing money.

Sanders himself was found hiding underneath a boat in the 3000 block of Arrendale.

Officers later recovered another bag of money from the suspect’s underwear.

Sanders pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and was given a $100,00 bond.

He’s scheduled to appear before a judge on Tuesday.
