NASHVILLE, Tenn. — One young man near Nashville picked the wrong guy to try and rob.
According to WTVF, 18-year-old Danterius Lindsey met a man outside the Inglewood Branch Library on Sunday after he told the man he would buy his gun.
During the meeting, Lindsey pulled out a revolver and pointed it at the man.
What Lindsey didn’t know was his victim was in fact a Tennessee Highway Patrol Officer.
The officer immediately pulled out his own gun in defense, and was able to stop Lindsey from running away.
When backup arrived, they found Lindsey on the ground with the officer standing guard over him.
Lindsey reportedly did not have a carry permit.
He was booked into the local jail on robbery and illegal purchase or attempt to purchase a weapon charges.
