MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are searching for the man who is breaking into homes, robbing, and sexually assaulting women.

The latest attack was at The Woods Apartments in Hickory Hill, but police told WREG this has been going on for almost two years now at apartment complexes in Hickory Hill, Northeast Memphis, and Cordova.

Police said there were at least five sexual assaults and three burglaries.

“I haven’t had any problems over here. No break-ins  nothing like that,” said Felicia Patterson, who lives in the complex where the attacker last struck.

Police said the attacker came in through an unlocked patio door or window, and was armed with a gun.

Once inside, he robbed the woman and then sexually assaulted her.

It’s the same thing that happened at complexes along Germantown Parkway, like Country Squire, Woodchase, and Lincoln at Wolfchase.

The complexes,  Edgewater and The Summit, near Sycamore View were hit too.

The first attack dates back to 2014.

People living in several of the complexes were surprised this went on for so long before police shared the news.

At Edgewater Apartments off Sycamore View, residents said they have had small break-ins for the past few years.

Other residents said it was just another reminder to simply lock your doors.

Police said there’s no vehicle description and the attacker wore a mask in every assault.
