NASHVILLE, Tenn. — It’s just the latest horror story to come out when it comes to hoverboards.

Officials in Nashville said the transportation devices are to blame for two fires in the city- one of which destroyed a $1 million home.

According to The Tennessean, two teens heard a noise inside the home on January 9.

Not sure what it was, the two hid upstairs.

What they didn’t know was the noise was their hoverboard catching on fire on the first floor of the home.

Trapped upstairs, the teens were forced to break a second-floor window and jump from the burning building.

The blaze destroyed the 4,000-square-foot-home and left the teens with minor injuries.

Fire investigators confirmed the fire was caused by the hoverboard.

Another family also experience a small fire when their board caught fire in the battery compartment.

Thankfully in that blaze, only the hoverboard itself was damaged.
