CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Video released by the Corner Grocery store in Clarksdale, Mississippi of an armed robbery shows the terrifying moments before an officer was shot on Saturday.
Police arrested two men for the armed robbery and charged one man in the shooting of the officer.
Surveillance video revealed two workers were in the store just before 9:00 p.m. when two masked men burst through the door.
The men pointed handguns at the employees while they tried running away.
One employee made it out of a back door of the business, while a woman was forced to open the cash register before her escape.
One robber grabbed all of the cash out of the cash register and left the building in a matter of minutes.
Police reported Corporal Derrick Couch caught up to one of the men who shot him in the face.
Officer Couch was rushed to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.
