MANCHESTER, Conn. — Police in Connecticut are investigating a large fight that broke out at a Chuck E. Cheese during a child’s birthday party on Sunday night.

A family was celebrating at the restaurant in Manchester when strangers showed up and started fighting near the carousel, which resulted in a brawl, police told WTIC.

According to NBC Connecticut, the incident involved two women and may have started after the two bumped into each other.

Police said 12 people were involved in the altercation.

Two children who were knocked down during the fight suffered minor injuries.

The suspects fled before police arrived at restaurant.

Officers are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects.

Witnesses told WTIC it took “some time” for police to arrive.

Chuck E. Cheese’s released a statement on Monday:

“We are regretful of the situation. Our cast immediately called the authorities once the altercation went from verbal to physical. We are working closely with the authorities to provide our surveillance footage. The safety of our guests and cast members is our number one priority. We are sorry this happened. We are usually a place for food and fun and family and we work hard to provide a positive, wholesome atmosphere for guests.”
