MASON, Tenn. — Broken beer bottles and liquor spilling from the garbage was all that was left from a Memphis rapper’s CD release party in Tipton County.

Moneybagg Yo is known for his explicit lyrics and glorifying life on the streets.

It is that lifestyle of crime that deputies said led to 28 people being locked up Sunday after police barged into Club Maserati off of Highway 70.

“Very unsafe. This is why I applaud our police officers for being on top of it,” Elizabeth Glenn Hayes said.

Local, state and federal agencies were after criminals and gang members known for violence and running away from the law.

“I was extremely happy that they did capture those people who were dealing with the guns, and the drugs, and everything else,” Hayes told WREG.

Neighbors were relieved after learning law enforcement arrested people from four different gangs and got 10 guns and some drugs off of the streets.

“The more gang members that they can get off the street, the better,” Hayes explained.

More than half of the people arrested were from Memphis and Shelby County.

People living in Tipton County hope the out-of-town criminals stay away.

“If you’re doing bad things, stay out of Mason,” Hayes said.
