(Memphis) Lauren Holliday is facing a misdemeanor citation after being accused of leaving her child in the car, while she went in to EZ Pawn on Summer Avenue Wednesday.

The TN Department of Children Services says this isn’t the first time they’ve had to investigate Holliday.

One woman said this is a continual problem at that pawn shop and around Memphis.

Joan Coats said she was at EZ Pawn Monday when she heard kids screaming in the parking lot, “I was walking in and the manager, Webber, was walking out and I said somebody left their kids in the car. And he said `doesn`t have anything to do with me. ‘And I said I guess if they die on your property it does.”

The manager went inside and asked if someone left their kids in the car.

A woman shopping said yes and went out to her car and drove off.

Turns out it wasn’t even the car the manager was asked about.

Coats thinks the kids were left in two separate vehicles, “I called the police and gave them the tag numbers and they asked if I could stay there and I said yes. In the meantime, the man comes out and leaves. I call the police back and told them what direction he went in.”

EZ Pawn managers tell News Channel 3 at least one person left their kids in a car on Monday.

They said they acted quickly to make sure the mother in the store went back out to the car with her children.

But Coats says the big problem is people are not following the law.

Air Conditioner on or not, you cannot leave a child in the car alone even if it’s just for a minute.
