MEMPHIS, Tenn. — WREG is taking action to clean up eyesores in area neighborhoods.
Monday a viewer told us about trash and junk along Tchulahoma Road near the Mississippi state line.
Just hours after we started asking questions of the city of Memphis, the mess was cleaned up.
“About every other week there’s a new pile of something out here,” said Greg Morse, who lives on Tchulahoma.
Morse said he sometimes even finds trash in his driveway.
Roger Saurage, who drives along Tchulahoma each morning, has noticed the trash as well.
“At one time, there was nothing but garbage and tires,” said Saurage. “As the animals tear it up and get into it, it gets scattered all down the road.”
When WREG contacted the city, they said they would get it taken care of by the end of business Tuesday.
It turns out, they did even better.
At 5 p.m. Monday, Saurage called WREG to let us know the trash had been cleaned up.
