MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Shelby County Health Department held an information meeting on the recent measles outbreak in the area.
Director Alisa Haushalter confirmed six people have recovered or are recovering from the measles at this time.
One other person is awaiting test results.
Some of the patients can be linked together, and they won’t be surprised if other cases of the measles pop up in the future, she said.
Before the meeting, the Health Department released the following list of those locations that the patients visited while they were infected.

If you were at these locations during the designated times, you are urged to know your immunization status.
Those who have received the immunization or had the measles as a child have a very slim chance of contracting the highly infectious disease.
The main concern for health professionals are those individuals who are not vaccinated such as young children.
If you don’t know if you have had the measles or have been vaccinated, you are urged to call your doctor.
Anyone can visit their healthcare provider of the Health Department to get a vaccine.
Haushalter said if you have the symptoms of the measles which include a rash, runny nose or a fever, contact your doctor.
Do not go to an emergency room or out in public.
Measles are highly contagious and an infected person can spread it four days before developing a rash and four days after.
The total incubation period for the measles is 21 days.
