NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Davidson County 5-year-old, allegedly thrown out of his home with nothing but a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle blanket, was rescued from a busy street by a passing driver.

According to WTVF, a motorist spotted the child walking down Castlegate Drive after dark.

The child was all alone, seemed lost and looked scared, the driver said.

By the time officers arrived, the child was crying and cold despite the good Samaritan’s best efforts.

The child reportedly told officers his father ordered him to leave the family home with nothing but the blanket.

He then pointed out his home which was some ways down the street.

Authorities said when the father finally answered the door, he said he had been asleep.

DCS is now involved and the child is currently in the mother’s custody.

The father was charged with child neglect.
