For years, Memphis has held the title of the biggest city in the state of Tennessee, but recent census data showed that might not be the case for much longer if our neighbors to the north have anything to say about it.
Over the past year along, Nashville has gained 9,000 residents.
Memphis on the other hand has lost more than 700.
The gap between the two cities is about 1,000 people.
City Council member Berlin Boyd and Mayor Jim Strickland both said there are many reasons why people area leaving.
Crime, high tax rate, even the fact the city borders Arkansas and Mississippi.

But the question remains, is losing that distinction of being the largest city as significant as some people think?
