MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Sunday churches across the city took a stand against the violence plaguing Memphis.
They are part of a group called United Against Violence 901.
After service, church members headed outdoors to pray for peace in our city. They did it outside to show the community they’re taking a stand.
“There is a church on every corner in Memphis, Tennessee, more churches than gas station and barbecue restaurants. And so when all of these churches start praying and actualizing their faith, it’s going to change the face of this city.”
Doctor Spencer said prayer is just one way to help curb the violence. He also said city leaders must take action, and we need criminal justice reform.
