MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Funeral services will be held Friday for a Memphis Police Officer hit and killed this past Saturday.
The service for Officer Verdell Smith will be held at 11 a.m. at Hope Presbyterian Church.

Officer Smith was hit by a car and killed near Beale Street Saturday night.
Police have charged Justin Welch in Smith’s death, as well as the shootings of three men in downtown Memphis.
